Senior Lingua no sustituye a los profesores o cursos de idiomas y no está en sus planes hacerlo. No enseñamos ni gramática ni vocabulario, solo ponemos en contacto a estudiantes de idiomas con personas mayores para que conversen e intentamos hacer esto de la mejor forma.
Senior Lingua está diseñado por profesores de idiomas que creen que es posible contribuir a que vuestros alumnos mejoren sus competencias lingüísticas, aumenten su motivación y obtengan mejores resultados sin interferir en vuestros cursos y ayudando a la sociedad.
En un futuro queremos implementar un sistema para que los estudiantes puedan compartir su uso con los profesores y queremos implementar otras características que puedan ayudar a las clases, cursos o profesores porque Senior Lingua está hecho por profesores de idiomas y siempre pensamos en como complementaros, ayudaros y que vuestros alumnos obtengan los mejores resultados. Y si tenéis sugerencias o ideas, estaremos encantados de estudiarlas e intentar mejorar.

What is Senior Lingua?
Senior Lingua is a platform designed to connect language learners (typically students) with seniors for language practice and cultural exchange. It serves as a tool for students to practice a new language with native speakers and for seniors to share their language and experiences while helping others learn. The primary goal is to facilitate pleasant conversations and meaningful connections between these two groups.

It serves as a tool for students to practice language and learn about culture, while offering seniors an opportunity to share their language, stories, and wisdom and connect with others.
The platform distinguishes between two main user types:
- Students/Language Learners: Individuals seeking to practice a new language with native speakers.
The central function of Senior Lingua is facilitating real-time voice and video conversations.
- Initiating a Call: Users can start an instant video call via the "Start Call" button on the Home Screen. The platform uses a queue system to match students with available seniors (and vice-versa) based on the language being learned/spoken. The manual notes that in some cases, users may be able to connect with others of the same type (e.g., Student-Student or Senior-Senior) under specific conditions.
- Receiving a Call: Users receive an incoming call notification and can choose to "Accept" or "Reject" the call.
- During a Call: Standard video call controls are available, including mute/unmute microphone, turn on/off camera, and end call. A call timer is displayed. Students may have the option to request a call extension, which requires approval from the senior user and may depend on the student's subscription plan.
- After a Call: Users are typically prompted to provide "Feedback/Rating" on the conversation.
- The platform often provides a "Topic of the Week" or suggested questions to help conversations flow, although users are free to discuss any topic of interest.
Senior Lingua allows for planned conversations in addition to instant calls.
- Setting Availability (Primarily for Seniors/Teachers): Seniors can specify their available time slots for receiving calls in their "Personal Area" or Profile Settings. This helps students schedule sessions.
- Scheduling a Call: Students can browse available seniors (if applicable) and their availability to book a call for a future time. A scheduling request is sent to the other user (typically the Senior) for acceptance or rejection.
- Managing Scheduled Calls: Users can view, cancel, or potentially reschedule upcoming scheduled calls. Reminder notifications are typically sent before a scheduled call.
Beyond calls, users can communicate via text chat.
- Initiating a Chat: Chats can be initiated after a call or by students sending a chat request to a senior (which the senior must accept). Direct search and chat initiation may be available depending on privacy settings and application version.
- Chat Interface: The chat interface is similar to standard messaging apps, with message lists, input fields, send buttons, and message bubbles with timestamps.
- Managing Chats: Users receive notifications for new messages. Seniors may have the option to temporarily disable chat. There should be an option to block users in case of uncomfortable interactions, preventing them from calling or messaging. The ability to delete messages or chats may vary.
Senior Lingua includes an AI Chat Assistant for practice and quick inquiries.
- Accessing the AI Chat: A dedicated section or button for "AI Chat," "Practice Chat," or similar is available, potentially on the Home Screen.
- Using the AI Chat: Interaction is text-based, similar to chatting with a person.
- Functions and Limitations: The AI is designed for practicing conversations, asking questions about the app or language learning tips, and potentially simple role-playing scenarios. The manual emphasizes that the AI is an automated system and not a replacement for human interaction. Its language support and availability (free vs. subscription) may vary.
The platform likely offers subscription plans to unlock additional features or usage.
- Plan Summary: Different tiers (e.g., Free, Basic, Advanced, Premium) are described, offering varying levels of access and features. Specific plan names and inclusions are found in the "Subscription" section of the app.
- Unlocked Features: Subscriptions can provide benefits like increased call time, access to more users, call extension functionality, AI Chat access, and potentially an ad-free experience.
- Subscription Process: Users can subscribe through the app, with payments handled by the relevant app store (Google Play or Apple App Store).
- Managing Subscriptions: Subscriptions can be viewed and cancelled through the app's settings or the user's app store account. Cancellation allows continued premium access until the end of the current billing period.

- Account Settings: This section allows for changing passwords (for email-registered accounts) and deleting the account. Account deletion is described as "permanent" and will erase user data.
Assistance is available for users encountering issues or having questions.
- FAQ: A dedicated FAQ section is provided for common questions and troubleshooting.
- Contacting Support: Users can contact the Senior Lingua support team via a "Contact Us" form or email, with info@seniorlingua.com being a mentioned support address.
